Terry J. Townsend, Architect

Terry was born and raised in California and started studying architecture at the age of 14. A year later, his first design was built. He continued his studies of architecture through high school while simultaneously working with local contractors designing and building residential projects. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1983. As part of the advanced architecture curriculum at Cal Poly, Terry spent his fourth year of design studies in Europe. Terry passed his professional architectural exams in 1987 and is currently licensed to practice in California and Arizona, and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Pleasanton   The office is conveniently located in the historic downtown district of Pleasanton, California. Not only is this location easily accessible to the local governmental offices, but is also centrally located and within easy reach of the major metropolitan hubs of the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

Terry’s practice is set up in the traditional style of a small architectural office, giving individual attention to each of his client’s needs. He is personally involved in every aspect and every phase of each project, from initial meeting, to concept design, through construction of the project. This is something that is lost in the larger architectural firms where the success of the project is only as good as the least experienced employee.
